T. Giovanis & Company is a broad based health policy and regulatory consulting firm serving clients nationally. Our expertise is in two major areas: health policy and reimbursement.
Health Policy: We conduct research and data analysis and study potential issues regarding rates or payment systems for many Medicare and Medicaid payment areas. Our work generally is on behalf of health care providers, their associations, or county governments with health care providers. This component of our business can include advocacy with federal or state regulators and legislators on the clients' behalf. Our thorough, well-grounded understanding of the policy issues leads to better results for our clients.
Reimbursement is the application of policy. Here, we assist clients across a wide spectrum of engagements that focus on client specific reimbursement issues. In addition, we have developed product services/lines for payment systems/issues that positively affect providers on a systematic basis. Examples of the services include: disproportionate share hospital payments, the Medicare area wage index, indirect medical education payments, and payments to psychiatric hospitals and units.
T. Giovanis & Company was founded in 1990 and is centrally located between Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC. The firm has provided services to hundreds of clients in over half the states, with current active clients in about a dozen states. We perform services on engagements through a "principals only" approach - the firm's principals actually service the clients. We have found this to be effective and efficient for accomplishing the objectives of our engagements, to be more beneficial to clients, and to result in stronger client relationships.
Our principals come from varied backgrounds and experiences with minor overlaps. Therefore, their experiences are complimentary and not duplicative. The principals have collaborated with each other for many years and, as a result, can effectively work together to produce results for our clients. |
